I am currently familiarising myself with sharing my game development progress on Reddit. Does anyone have any good tips for me, especially on how to build initial karma?

I suggest you dich reddit and just focus in making your game. Popularity will come afterwards. Just make sure it's gonna be a good game. All the best!

Dunno man, go around looking for random subreddits of anything you're into (sports, videogames, politics, a fandom you're part of, etc) and post in there, also try to act friendly, be mindful and think before posting, like put yourself in their shoes (post whatever you think you'd like to see yourself) and don't be an asshole with others (I know, kinda hard considering how many idiots are out there, but you need to be the bigger person, people usually likes that).

Not that I'm an expert tho cuz it's been years since the last time I posted in a subreddit, I don't like the vibe in there, I'm just talking from my experience frequenting forums and such.

Exactly. My team has been focusing on polishing our game content rather than running ads. I actually just found another platform to share our progress on, in addition to this forum, which has really become my home base for activity.

Thanks for the suggestion! I am definitely going to try putting that into practice.

Man, I have to admit, this place really became like a nice chilling spot for me too. Issues here and there, but it's very nice. Used to be at a discord server for pirating skyrim and fo4 mods, but that's history now...

My opinion is arrogance. If their content isnt available in another language, country, etc for legal purchase they would rather you NEVER get to experience their work than pirate it.

Lately I have read, both on Twitter and on Reddit, that many Japanese, especially content creators, are theorizing that by having a market closed to foreigners, it is impossible for piracy to come from there, therefore, any foreign client is a potential pirate; This makes some sense due to the simple fact that there are card creators and artists (to give an example) who block when they notice that a user who has paid for their fanbox or patreon is a foreigner.

That makes more sense as to why Unagi blocks people who speak to him in English or using hiragana (which is the Japanese that Google Translate normally uses).

I feel like ひがし and yubao魚拿堡 are one of the rare cases in the Koikatsu community where two creators can be seen as direct competitors.
They don’t even follow each other, which makes it even more interesting.😮

Both of them produce very high-quality cards, their pricing is quite similar, and they share a key advantage — their cards can usually be used in scenes right away with little to no modification.
Their body styles are also quite similar, which means the visual results in animations and scenes tend to look pretty close as well.

Which one do you guys end up using more?
