No, I didn't unzip it. I went to check the sideloader mods and they're there.

Just to make sure, those files are .zipmod and not .rar files, right? If yes, do you have multiple Koikatsu folders? Like, the one you use and a backup one, to give an example. If again the answer is yes, run the registry fixer.bat from the Koikatsu folder that actually has the mods installed and try running the game. If you still get the missing mods error, you fucked up and I don't know how.

What exactly is a headmod, and what do I need to do? I’m not very familiar with this kind of stuff. I thought the reason the character’s face looks like the one from the actual game was because of the character card.

Head mods are likely directly extracted or Ripped from games, quality depends upon how the author invest on the extracted headmods(Author like Judge/Lor/zanny) other creator use the in-game modified headmods and do magic (kyonko/Higashi/makise/makisu/alucid/RAT)

how i can fix it

its sunshine so i am not sure the hotkey, but you have post-processing effect on. Go to studio, find the shortcut for post-processing effect and turn it off.
Entirely unsure can you access shortcut in the game tho (probably can lol), try pressing F1~F9 or something and see if anything popup. If you see a list of setting just find post processing effect
