Pepper's Scene Archive (substitute)

Redirect people to this post for the time being.

If you have tried to access the Rentry version of the Scene Archive for the past few hours you might have seen a 404.
We had a copyright complaint over this. We didn't receive a proper legally binding DMCA (obviously)
It should go back up soon, for the time being, this post will substitute the Rentry page for now.

Whoever this was, I can see it. You're also a retard, you do know that I'll get your legal info right?
My Scene Archive isn't centralized in any singular location. The entire thing can be reuploaded by anybody & anywhere.
Rentry was just for convenience, the entire archives file size is only 222kb!
Now everybody here can paste the file anywhere, which will spread it like wildfire.

Scene Archive Download
(Mass upload this file everywhere guys)
I can't download the file, the link is down it seems

requesting for Himeko nova from lor <3
lor 2026 release are marked so either wait till somebody have and able to de-mark it (don't put high hope for this tho) or use other headmod as substitute.

Hi everyone,
I've run into a strange issue with a character card I modified from another creator. It used to load fine, but now whenever I try to import it, Koikatsu spikes to 100% RAM usage and often crashes. I haven't installed any new mods or plugins recently.
I'm trying to figure out what might be causing the memory leak. Has anyone seen this before? Any suggestions on how to debug this would be greatly appreciated.
The card in question is here: https://gofile.io/d/oKJUTQ
Warning: It appears to cause high memory usage and may crash the game. Please be cautious.😰😰😰
(If needed, I can also upload logs or describe the specific edits I made.)
Thanks in advance!
130mb for a card is to much for me to try...
when i got troublesome card like that (usually grafko and higashi) i load it partially.

i have "base character" that dont have any modification, no overlay, no hair and no clothes for this purpose.
started by load only the clothes and clothes overlay and then save as new card, check it it have an issue like overly big 8k-16k tex on it or have 10+++ acc being used. (to be safe, u can load it while clothes state are naked and acc state are off on the panel on the right side)
do the same thing with the face, body and body overlay, load the "base character" and then load only the face, body and body overlay.

most of the time the issue are from the clothes, either it use so excessively high res tex on each clothes part or using shader with many custom tex or many acc sloth used (10++) or all 3 of it.

EDIT: FYI one modder that i would say have the best optimization are Numb, his card usually have less that 10mb (include headmod and clothes) and coordinate that less than 1mb.

Is this related to the size of the character card?
But I didn't encounter this problem when opening other particularly large character cards, even those exceeding 600MB.😰
One thing I've noticed is that Koikatsu Game (Charamaker and h-scenes) tends to have a lot of problems when you try to use Characards with very high processing and size requirements, while Charastudio doesn't seem to have any issues with this.

In the worst-case scenario, the game image freezes and requires a restart, but it seems that Charastudio is designed to handle much more.

Possible causes:
- Badly ported assets
- Horribly optimized mods
- Gigantic textures
- Millions of polygons
- A lot of accessories
- Demanding shaders

Like I had a 21mb card but the moment I'd swap her into Studio she'd suck the memory dry and crash my GPU if I wasn't careful.

Owner even admitted that all the AI garbage is eating up a lot of resources. Why he doesn't outright ban it is a mystery.
It seems to be due to the clothing. I've modified the character card, and now everything is normal. :coffee:

It was half-joking, half-serious, but if you're asking, yes, to some extent, to a greater or lesser extent.

Generally, such weights are abnormal; they're not normal weights; cards should be between a few megabytes and a dozen or so.

Generally, I don't know your components; you might not notice it because you have a good computer, but that doesn't change the fact that I wouldn't use such cards, as they're problematic for many reasons, from optimization and potential bugs to abnormal weight in studio scenes, causing scenes to weigh x gigabytes.
I wouldn't want to waste my hard drive on a single piece of junk that takes up enough space to fit a dozen other better good quality cards/mods. For example, I avoid some SFB mods because a single hair and head mod can weigh up to 700MB.

I generally avoid such cards completely. A few days ago, even KaosKatsu's card, which had several dozen megabytes, was so messed up and buggy that the game would go into a loop. It worked, with audio in the character creator, but the image froze, requiring Alt-F4. I just wanted to save the coordinates, and it cost me five restarts.

Btw card per 600mb? Holy shiet, that crazy. XDDddfhbnn
Thank you for your reply.
It seems I should try to reduce the size of those character cards that take up too much storage space.

It all makes sense now!
I think I modified the character cards for these two authors.(grafko and higashi)😂😂

Anyone have all Makise mods and Makise collection?
u can get all makise mods for free on his/her pixiv page.
as for character cards, people are rarely use makise character card on the get go, usually using his/her cloth mod for cards from higashi, kyonko, yubao, alucid etc.

The author of this card is crazy. They put about 67 8k textures on the first outfit alone, at around 20MB per texture. Luckily, using duplicate textures in MaterialEditor doesn't bloat the card size, so it stayed at 138MB instead of skyrocketing to 600MB+.
Anyway, I added nothing and deleted this pro's 8K datas. Enjoy!

Hehe, welcome to the club, for me it has been a daily routine for many years, an eternal ritual, I value optimization, you can really do wonders with Photoshop.

Nanael/Masakit just updated the card

(Apologies if I've become too annoying/spammy about this card)
I bought it four days ago—I wonder if I’ll have to buy it again in this case.
I tried downloading it again, but I can’t tell the difference at all, lol.

Overlays in 16k.

Holy Roxy.. It sounds so abstract, like JPG/PNG in music albums/OSTs, which can have an image size of 80,000 pixels. Ultimately, 50-70% of the weight of a huge album is sometimes a single screen.
Humanity will never cease to surprise me. XD
The biggest overlay i ever saw was 8k, and not because of the 8k, but rather because of what the 8k was placed on, a belly button piercing, that you would have to search for from a kilometer away with a sniper scope to see. XXDDDgbnn

Thank you for everything you've done.

However, why did the original author use so many textures? Won't the computer crash when creating the costume cards?🧐

That seems to be the case; importing character cards into Charastudio works normally.:coffee:
For example, my PC is from 2017 and has a GPU from 2019. The PaintITblack cards don’t load correctly in Charamaker, but they run smoothly in Charastudio—and that’s even considering that the PITB cards include body overlays and textures for some clothing items with 8k resolutions, as well as some duplicated materials with different shaders.

That, along with some technical and graphical details, is what led me to that conclusion.
(Now that I think about it, I don't know why I haven't replaced my PC).

You're welcome. Out of curiosity, what card is CLIF1 supposed to be on? If I can get a hint of what the outfit is supposed to be it could potentially be easier to track down the relevant Juedge mod.
hi i have question do you have Rurri collection please send me since kemon is down and paw is about to get down too i don't know since i have hard time to find rurri card collection if you know anyone have them that i can ask please tell to to thanks

Oops 67is a joke. I was going to say 30 textures.
That character card looks like it could fry even an 8GB GPU, but since even the RTX 5060 Ti has 16GB now, it should be completely fine.

There is no problem with the computer, someone should rather replace the brains with new ones, of the crazy authors who place such textures on assets.
You can have a computer from NASA, but if someone makes a mess in places they don't have fundamental knowledge about, there will still be problems.
It's like having fucked spaghetti up code and using it.
The best example is YueFengYu's mods, which use 4098x8196 pixels. They degrade visual detail, and the sizes aren't adjusted to the native dimensions of assets.
Even when scrolling through the clothes tab, when you come across such an author, you will feel input lag.
It's like those idiots who use monitors without native resolution.(I mean people who boast about their PC equipment without any fundamental knowledge.)

I've packaged a map from Yandere Simulator. I'm not a fan of the game, but I'll admit that some of its maps catch my eye, and they aren't “crimes against humanity” like the 5,592-polygon brush.

I'm surprised that for models with flat colors, like anime models or some VTubers, they use 8K, but anyway, for my personal use, I tweak the textures and save the original cards on another drive in case I want to share them.

Japanese and Chinese card creators are very demanding when it comes to detail; don't be surprised if you find iris overlays with a resolution of 4K or higher.
